Left ventricular myocardial focal involvement and sudden death risk in cardiac sarcoidosis

Cardiac sarcoidosis is a rare disease with high risk of the sudden cardiac death. In this article we described the clinical course of cardiac sarcoidosis in a young female patient. Focal cardiac involvement in sarcoidosis must be differentiated from myocardial infarction and non-coronary myocardial pathology. Diagnostic approaches, assessment of sudden cardiac death risk and treatment options in cardiac sarcoidosis are discussed.
