Dear colleagues!

Recently the physicians became accustomed to regular appearance of new medical journals. The contemporary period is characterized by quick increase of need in timely information, and formation of new editions makes possible to answer the significant challenge of this time.

In order to develop cardiovascular surgery it is extremely important to provide specialists with timely and systematic publication of their original scientific data. Besides, it is important to help cardiologists and other specialists to avoid bias regarding many cardiovascular interventions, existing until nowadays, despite excellent traditions of the cardiac surgery in Ukraine. These tasks are solved by the specialized edition “Cardiac Surgery and Interventional Cardiology” published since May, 2012.

In year and a half since its appearance this journal is already among top editions in the rating of the specialized editions in cardiology.

I would like to thank most distinguished cardiac surgeons and cardiologists in our country which are members of the editorial board and supported the edition, as well as world-level experts – members of the international editorial board.

I believe in development of our fruitful cooperation with authors and readers of the edition.
