The article provides a brief overview of the key principles of the ESC Guidelines for the Management of Acute Myocardial Infarction in Patients Presenting With ST-Segment Elevation (update 2017). The focus is maintained on the following aspects: logistics and time delays at different stages of medical care; selection of reperfusion strategy; recommendations for fibrinolytic therapy and its application.
