Left ventricular non-compaction occurs much more frequently than other pathology is diagnosed, especially hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The article presents clinical case illustrating diagnosis of left ventricular non-compaction and differential diagnosis between left ventricular non-compaction and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The similarities between left ventricular non-compaction and syndrome of connective tissue dysplasia recorded in the described case suggest etiopathogenetic communication between both pathological conditions. The article demonstrates few treatment options in left ventricle non-compaction which are known today. Adverse prognosis and high mortality in left ventricular non-compaction determine the necessity of its recognition at the early stages and differentiated approach to treatment depending on the severity of the patient, using modern methods of conservative treatment and surgery.
Key words: left ventricular non-compaction, connective tissue dysplasia syndrome, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
