Cor triatriatum as a diagnostic finding in the elderly patient with permanent atrial fibrillation

The clinical case of cor triatriatum in which there is a fibromuscular membrane in left atrium is presented in the article. This septum divides left atrium into two cameras: posterior-superior and inferior-anterior. The latter has connection with left atrioventricular channel and left atrial appendage. Clinical features, hemodynamic changes, clinical course, diagnosis and treatment are discussed. The data of transthoracic B-mode echocardiography, as well as B-mode and three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography are provided.
